Dome of Visions

The world-renowned architect Buckminster Fuller provided much inspiration for the Dome of Visions project, with his influential invention, the geodesic dome. Dome of Visions asked Sigma to help them implement a smart IoT platform, that would capture various types of data.

Context & Needs

In order to understand, you must measure and analyze. Dome of Visions in Aarhus linked smart management of lights, attendance checks, etc. Yet, there was no way to collect and measure this data, with the already purchased sensors.

Our Approach

We set up Ericsson's AppIoT platform and collected all of the data from our client’s different sensors. SmartThings, Sense, cameras etc.

Result

By using cloud services, DomeofVisions.dk gives our clients a good overview of the building and how it is performing, both in terms of occupancy levels and environmental factors.

Anticimex

Anticimex specialize in pest control, helping their customers to maintain healthy working environments. We were asked to migrate their digital pest control solution, SMART, to the cloud.

Context & Needs

Demand for Anticimex SMART has accelerated since its launch. The solution needed to be moved to the cloud, both for scalability, but also for integration into Anticimex source systems and long term cloud strategy.

Our Approach

With the Microsoft Azure IoT Suite, we moved Anticimex's continued development work to the cloud. The development is ongoing and Anticimex can take advantage of Azure's services for analysis, visualization and scalability.

Result

By using cloud services, Anticimex can get a quick overview of how the traps are working, if they need to be emptied or where else they might be required.

Östersunds Kommun

Context & Needs

Östersund Municipality has a vision that the elderly will have better health and increased quality of life. The possibility of staying at home allows both a richer quality of life for the individual and a more efficient use of the municipality's resources.

The municipality explored how sensors can create a safer environment, where the right efforts are introduced at the right time.

Our Approach

Based on Sigma's proposal for an open IoT platform, an ecosystem was created, addressing various needs and challenges in healthcare. The platform manages different sensors and includes assistance with alarm management, health parameters and data; all of this can be connected and used by different care professionals. Data can be accessed in apps, websites, or business analysis tools.

Result

By using an open IoT platform, the Municipality can work innovatively and implement technology to assist and evolve with their growing needs. Working with a platform that is open and shaped by users avoids siloed systems or one system for every need, which usually leads to an unsustainable working environment. Now it is possible for workers to extract, present and integrate data into the digital workplace. Something that is crucial in future digital care.

Appiot by Ericsson

For a couple of years, we have helped Ericsson AB to develop an IoT platform called AppIoT.

Context & Needs

B2B solutions and platforms have been on the market for a long time. Ericsson asked for Sigma’s help in quickly setting a strategy and developing a powerful and future-proof IoT platform for the global market.

Our Approach

We developed a platform that utilizes Microsoft Azure cloud services and services for IoT, but also integrates with other worldwide services and products, provided by Ericsson. The development is ongoing and Ericsson's customers are benefiting from Azure's services for analysis, visualization and scalability.

Result

Ericsson today has one of the world's most powerful IoT platforms. The platform supports both vertical and horizontal IoT feeds. Ericsson also has an ecosystem in place of pre-integrated hardware and end user applications.

Coala Life

Our cloud solution and associated IT solutions for Coala Heart Monitor.

Context & Needs

Coala Life is a medical technology company focused on cardiac diagnostics and mobile health. Coala Heart Monitor is a patented technology and a commercial solution for remote monitoring and self-screening of heart and ECG. When the solution was to be developed, Coala Life chose Sigma as their strategic partner for the development of a cloud solution and associated IT solutions.

Our Approach

Coala Life has developed their technology together with prominent researchers, cardiologists and collaborators, and we at Sigma have been involved in the development work. Coala Heart Monitor records heart rates and measures ECGs quickly and easily via advanced membranes placed on the heart for 30 seconds, followed by a reference ECG measurement. Heart Rate Analysis and ECG analysis is performed in real time in the cloud, based on algorithms. In just a few seconds, the user can diagnose the heart, so that any symptoms can be quickly detected.

Result

Coala Life has launched its solution Coala Heart Monitor on the market and was awarded the eHealth Award 2017 at Vitalis, the Nordic region's leading eHealth fair.
